Pull tabs appear on canned sodas, beer, small cans of juices, soups, pet foods, canned fruits, soy and many other dietary supplements.
Pull tabs are presently being collected in the Washington Metropolitan area at the Kennedy Center Café, The National Press Club, Signature Theatre, EuroMotorcars, numerous restaurants, other businesses, physician offices, neighborhood schools, and many more locations to follow. We have containers in 46 states.
Pull Tabs For Charity participates in Guidestar.org in order to illustrate our organization's transparency and accountability. Additional steps are also taken. For example, as our Guidestar listing indicates, all donations made to RMHC are earmarked and made on-line via a designated on-line account, created and maintained by Ronald McDonald House Charities. This account is closely monitored and reported to our Board of Directors on a quarterly basis and reported to the Internal Revenue Service on an annual basis, as well. Similarly, all donations to the National Institute of Health are earmarked (for cancer research protocols) and equally well documented. In this case, all donations are paid by check from an escrow account maintained at a local Chevy Chase Bank in Kensington, Maryland. In turn, all donation acknowledgment letters received from the National Cancer Institute are carefully recorded. Likewise, our alliance with Montgomery Scrap Corporation is also fastidiously maintained and safeguarded. In fact, all recycling transactions are routinely logged and otherwise accounted for by systematically reconciling all issued checks with the actual weight of each lot of aluminum pull tabs received by PTFC and presented for processing and recycling.
