Children’s Inn at The National Institutes of Health
Mission: In 1990, The Children’s Inn at NIH opened its doors to pediatric patients and their families. Since then the Inn has been in continuous operation: 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Children and families travel from all over the world to The National Institutes of Health (NIH) because conventional treatments have failed to have sufficient impact on their illnesses. Located in Bethesda, Maryland, NIH is the world’s premier biomedical research facility. Children receive treatment for illnesses such as cancer, heart, lung, bone and growth disorders, mental illnesses and HIV infection.
Special Love for Children With Cancer (Camp Fantastic)
Mission: There is an unspoken bond amongst kids with cancer. They exist on a higher plane – a place where strength is demanded and resolve essential. Together these youth are an inspirational, irrepressible force. Joined, they can surmount their illnesses and celebrate the simple joys of childhood. Special Love’s summer camps, day trips, and week-end activities offer these amazing children a community that cares.
Friends of the Clinical Center (FOCC)
Mission: FOCC is a non-profit charity organized to help patients of the National Institutes of Health who have financial and emergency needs while they are participating at trials at the Clinical Center.
